A Little Word About Jennie
Jennie Kim was born on January 16, 1996 in Seoul, South Korea. At the age of 9, her family sent her to ACG Parnell College in New Zealand to study abroad. In 2006, she appeared in the MBC documentary “English, Must Change To Survive”.
Jennie returned to South Korea in 2010 and passed the YG Entertainment affiniers. She worked as a trainee for 5 years and 11 months. In 2012, she appeared on Lee Hi’s song ‘Special’ and appeared in the music video of G-Dragon ‘That XX’. In 2013, she was featured in G-Dragon’s song ‘BLACK’. In 2016, she debuted as the Main Rapper and Lead Vocalist of BLACKPINK. Jennie is also the face and center of her group.



Jennie's Solo
On November 12, 2018 Jennie’s song ‘SOLO’ was released. Jennie won her first award from Inkigayo on November 25. “SOLO” is a dance, pop and hip hop song with EDM elements. SOLO by JENNIE was the first female K-Pop solo artist in history to top Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales with her “own” single.

Jennie Became the CHANEL House’s Official Global Ambassador in 2019
In January 2018, Jennie was named the muse of Harper’s Bazaar. In March 2019, she was announced as the new Global Ambassador of the French luxury fashion brand CHANEL. She is the last Chanel ambassador chosen by Karl Lagerfeld, one of the most important Fashion Designers of the 20. century. Chanel said the following to the question about why they chose Jennie as ambassadors;
“Jennie is the Main Character of the beloved K-Pop beyond borders. Being like a global ambassador means that Korea has risen in the global fashion industry.”

JENNIE's Youtube Channel
Jennie’s ‘Jennierubyjane Official’ personal youtube channel, which she opened in January 2021, gained 1 million subscribers in 7 hours, becoming the fastest channel in the world to achieve this. W Magazine called Jennie the “Tesla of the YouTube world” for this.

Jennie Debuted Fashion Editor in 2021
In February 2021, Jennie debuted as Fashion Editor for Vogue Korea magazine.
Jennie has taken photoshoots as a model, but this is the first time she has participated in photo shoots as a planner, deciding on her own concept and deciding on hair and makeup drafts, including styling.

Jennie's Acting Career
In June 2022, she became the FIRST Kpop idol to debut in Hollywood by joining the cast of “The Idol” series broadcast on HBO.

Jennie's Collabration with PORSCHE
On October 12, 2022 in collaboration with the world’s largest auto brand for Porsche with the Sonderwunsch program, Jennie designed her own car. Porsche Korea CEO Holger German:
“JENNIE represents the young creative Women Leaders and the generation, making her the ideal ambassador for this iconic launch.”

Jennie's First Met Gala
She attended the Met Gala as the last Chanel ambassador selected by Karl Lagerfeld on May 1 2023 and she become the most talked name.
Kim has always wondered how people sit down in their extravagant gowns once they’re actually inside the exhibit. Luckily for her, tonight, the Chanel team made a reinterpretation of look 164 from Lagerfeld’s fall 1990 ready-to-wear collection, which just so happens to be a mini dress—Kim’s length of choice. The satin bustier dress is embellished with a simple white camellia with a ribbon tie at the bodice, while a matching flower is pinned to her hair.

Jennie's Second Met Gala
On May 1 2024, Jennie wore a special design by Alaïa as the FIRST Kpop idol invited to the Met Gala as a VIP guest by Anna Wintour.
Jennie Kim is taking the 2024 Met Gala by storm.
The Blackpink member made a dazzling entrance on the steps of New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art. Nodding to this year’s “Garden of Time” dress code, the singer went with a unique interpretation by wearing a fluid cobalt-blue minidress.

On May 4 2023, she released her own capsule collection with Calvin Klein. The collection attracted great attention around the world and sold out in a short time. Jonathan Bottomley, Calvin Klein’s global marketing manager:

Jennie attend Cannes Film Festival
Jennie attended the Cannes Film Festival for the premiere of The Idol on May 22, 2023. Jennie broke the MIV (Media Impact Value) record as the most talked about name of the festival.

Jennie Establishes Her Own Label & Company, 2023
In December 2023, Jennie announced that she was founded her own company called ‘ODD ATELIER’. The articles that appear on OA’s website are:
“OA, which stands for ODD ATELIER, is a space that aims to create new things that attract attention in a different way from what is usual or expected. It is a label founded by artist Jennie in November 2023.”

JENNIE Signs to Columbia Records
On September 9, 2024, Jennie signed with Columbia Records.
History-making global superstar, entrepreneur, actress, and style icon JENNIE officially announces her signing as a solo artist to Columbia Records in partnership with her record label and entertainment company ODDATELIER. Under this newly minted partnership, she will unveil her new solo single in October.

Although Jennie has been noted for her chic and strong image on stage, she has a captivating, cute personality and reversal charm off-stage. She describes herself as “quiet” and “shy”, especially around strangers. “My personality may be what people think about my personality. But rather than being a person that other people have branded me as, I want to be a good individual who thinks for herself” she said in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar when questioned about her personality. The producer of Village Survival, the Eight, Jung Chul-Min described Jennie as being “really funny”, stating that, “Contrary to the charisma she shows on stage, she is a shy person who has girlish, baby-like charms. Jennie gets more comfortable with each episode, she brings out more fun and enjoys it even more”.
